That’s What She Said is a new monthly series and summer festival
showcasing the women and LGBTQIA+ members in our community.

It is an evening for everyone to come, celebrate one another, network, and connect.

For this inaugural @That’s What She Said, Carli Stevenson will be our speaker for the evening, speaking on this months topic: The Face of Feminism Today: ie where we are on this thing now! Blaze Stahl is our solo artist, and Indy’s hard-hitting, kickass band The Orchard Keepers will be closing out the evening! Come celebrate the women in your community and get charged up for the fight for equal rights!

Virginia Ave Music Forum:
The Music In Your City & Beyond

For the second year now we’re bringing you a variety of panel discussions to go along with all the spectacular performances. As we’re known to do though, this year we’re going bigger than before. Virginia Ave Music Fest 2019 is bringing you 11 different panels for our Virginia Ave Music Forum! The music scene in Indianapolis is growing at a remarkable rate. New venues, music companies, and world class musicians are popping up more and more…and we want to make sure that our community is ready to tackle it all head on. This year’s panels don’t cover EVERY topic in the music world, but we did our best to bring as many useful topics as we can…along with bringing back last year’s most popular panel, Music & Social Justice. Check out the schedule, come learn with us, and bring your best questions for our panelists!

Big thanks to Pioneer Indy, as they’re making it easier to find the panels this year by having them all in their space, and allowing us to make them all ages!

Stay tuned as more panels get added to the schedule and we announce all of our panelists!

Since it’s tax day, original protest songs are encouraged! 😉

Sign ups open at 6:30pm. Usually the list is full after 10 minutes, so please don’t delay! Draw a number, and turn it in to Chris Wolf.
First 30 names are taken, no exceptions after 30.

We have 30 songwriters sign up to perform a song each to a packed, attentive and respectful audience. What more could you ask for? Bring your best song!

ALL GENRES WELCOME
ORIGINAL MUSIC ONLY!
All ages are welcome.

Each songwriter will perform 1 ORIGINAL song, so come with your best material. The next song writer will follow, and everyone present that evening will cycle through. If we have enough time, we will draw names from a hat to decide who play the 2nd round.

The point of this is for you to LISTEN and be attentive to others

There will be random drawings for goodies throughout the evening, so stick around!!!

Do you have a new band, or perhaps just want to try out a few new songs, or perhaps polish up on some old songs? Are you too young to play an open stage at a bar, well then, we are the spot for you!

Our host for the All Original Open Band Jam will be Phillip Sloan. Huge THANK YOU to Brent Justin Schindler and the crew at Indy String Theory for sponsoring us with back line! This event is intended to allow a spot to debut new material, and rehearse live sets. We are hoping that the masses of young folks who are not allowed in the bar scene will come out and join us. The rules are as follows.

Sign up sheet will go out at 6:30
Music will run from 7pm to 10pm
A band must consist of 2 or more people
Each group can perform 3 original songs
Covers are not permitted under any circumstance
This event is ALL AGES
This event is FREE
Please be respectful of Square Cat and other guests. Tip your bartender!
