Since 2011, Art Squared has grown to become one of Indianapolis’ largest annual celebrations of the arts. Organized by the Fountain Square Arts Council, Art Squared is sponsored by the Fountain Square Merchants Association. What began has three art events under three separate organizations has now been unified into one amazing event. Art Squared.
Art Squared includes three unique art events on one day: Fountain Square Art Fair | Masterpiece in a Day | Fountain Square Art Parade.
The Fountain Square Art Fair is a festival marketplace for local artists to showcase their creative talents and display items for purchase. Vendor space is strictly reserved for local, Indiana-based artists and creators.
Masterpiece in a Day is a day-long art and writing competition, where locals, professional artists, students, neighbors, and friends create works of art to be judged for cash prizes. It's free to participate and open to the public – just bring your favorite supplies and start creating.
The Fountain Square Art Parade is a one-of-a-kind event where everyone is encouraged to become part of a moving work of art. Build a float, wear an outfit, make a statement. Or just watch the art move...and maybe even move you. The parade is free and open to all, and the rules are simple: participant works must be family-friendly and able to move along the entire parade route. It showcases contemporary artworks of all sizes and shapes that celebrates parades, street pageantry, and community.
